As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you will be the main developer of the robot code to realize our vision for an optimized and intelligent production. Some of the exciting challenges we are tackling include among others automatic offline programming from CAD models, automatic feature detection through machine vision and camera-based robot paths' adjustment.

You will play a key role in our efforts to develop, optimize, deploy, and maintain a reliable quality code that runs on the robots.

What You'll Be Doing

o Work with a team that develops a unique new process, shaping it into a product for the market.

o Write high quality code

o Be the main developer of the core software functionalities of our robotic cell

o Design, implement, and validate an adaptive robot program able to adjust robot trajectories based on 3D models of the targets

o Design software interface between robot and vision system

o Develop, test and deploy the interface robot-PLC interface (i.e. using profisafe)

o Develop test and deploy software interfaces between robot and CNC

o Integrate and test software solutions in simulation and on physical robots

o Collaborate with members of our software, hardware, and operations teams

o Participate in architecture reviews and code reviews

o Handle multiple activities simultaneously, meet deadlines, while effectively managing priorities and communicating progress.

o Write user manuals and software description

What You'll Bring

o 8+ years of work experience

o Advanced-level experience in robotics.

o Experience designing and developing functional robotics applications (robotic cells)

o Experience working with interdisciplinary teams

o Broad expertise in robot programming with KUKA robots (experience with FANUC is a plus)

o Expertise in offline robot programming (RoboDK, Kuka.Sim 4.0, Octopuz, Delfoi, Fanuc robotguide, etc.)

o Knowledge of both the Machinery Directive and relevant standards

o Expertise in robotic cells' safety systems also with collaborative robots (risks analysis, FMEA, etc)

o PLC programming capabilities (Siemens, TIA Portal, FANUC)

o Experience in requirement definition and follow up with suppliers

o Solid knowledge of robotics algorithms for localization, mapping, perception, planning, and control

o Minimum BS in Robotics or related fields (MS or Ph.D. preferred)

Nice-to-Haves

o You have developed and shipped a complete product to a customer

o Experience in R&D

o Experience from a system integrator company

o Experience with discrete manufacturing companies

o Experience with CNC metal cutting applications

o Proficient in programming (e.g. C++, Python, etc.)

o Knowledge of systems architecture

o Expertise with machine vision applications development with Halcon or similar perception/vision libraries

o Experience with autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and automated guided vehicles (AGV)

o Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Pytorch, etc)

o Experience with 3D simulation, games, or tools

o Experience with software engineering tools and best practices in production

o CNC programming expertise

o Some 3D modelling knowledge
