NDT Engineer

We are looking for a NDT Engineer!

We are looking to strengthen our engineering team at our location in Orkanger, Norway. We are at the moment looking for resources typically with a material technology background with specialization within NDT engineering within UT, RT, PT, MT, VT. The positions are responsible for ensuring equipment, personnel and documentation are fully qualified and approved prior and during all stages of production within their area of responsibility.  
 

Job Description

Role and responsibilities:

  •     Prepare and ensure all documents needed for the performance of all work are reviewed and accepted prior to start of any activities. 
  •     Ensure TechnipFMC and Customer requirements are met.
  •     Preparation of detailed project specific NDT procedures including relevant qualifications and/or validations of selected techniques or methodologies. 
  •     Planning and following up the qualification and/or validation program needed to complete the approved project specific NDT procedures. 
  •     Liaise with Client(s) and Quality Manager on NDT non-conformances etc. as required.
  •     Advising on NDT methods for various material and dimension combinations.
  •     Responsible for the planning, executing and follow up of the WPD and WPQ program.
  •     Support local engineering department on various materials technology aspects. 
  •     Ensure prevention of defects in production, and acceptable repair processes where relevant.  
  •     Monitor daily production and evaluate performance with special attention to continuous improvement. 

 

You are meant for this job if:

  •     Have good communication skills and presentation skills, effective collaboration in the project team, including with Customers and Suppliers is a key to success
    •     MSc or BSc in materials science or equivalent relevant fields. Documented relevant experience and achievements may substitute formal education level).  
    •     Certification withing NDT Level III in UT, RT, PT, MT, VT. (UT including PA and CRA). 
    •     Detailed knowledge about Automated Ultrasonic Testing (zonal discrimination, full matrix capture or total focusing method)
    •     Have knowledge and good understanding of typical weld flaws of welding methods like GMAW (preferably mechanized), GTAW, SMAW and FCAW. All other methods are a benefit, i.e. laser welding or laser hybrid welding. 
    •     Have knowledge of TechnipFMC products particular within the subsea pipeline segment. 
    •     If you have minimum 10 years of relevant work experience.
    •     English language oral and written is a requirement, Norwegian language is an advantage
    •     You must have a valid driver certificate (Norway) and dispose Your own car (for Norway)
    •     Based on your background and/or current resources you may be considered for a multi-purpose position within two or multiple disciplines (welding and materials). You will regardless work in close cooperation with these disciplines.
